ATHENS, Ohio (Purdue Sports) — The Purdue women's basketball team suffered an 80-73 loss at the hands of undefeated Ohio on the road Wednesday, falling to 6-3 on the season. The Bobcats put together a huge second-quarter burst that proved the final difference, improving to 7-0 on the year.

The Boilermakers' highlight of the night was junior Dominique Oden eclipsing the 1,000-career point mark, becoming the 33rd player in program history to accomplish the feat, the 16th junior and the seventh player to do it in under 80 games. She finished with 16 points, four rebounds, five assists and two steals for the game. Classmate Ae'Rianna Harris was plagued by foul trouble all night, but nearly posted a triple-double with 14 points, 11 rebounds and a career-high eight blocked shots. Sophomore Tamara Farquhar posted her first career double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds, and fellow second-year Karissa McLaughlin added 14 points.

The Bobcats converted 20 Purdue turnovers into 23 points, and hit 17-of-26 at the free throw line. They outscored the Boilermakers 26-9 in the second quarter, creating a gap that Purdue was unable to erase. Purdue pulled with within eight in the fourth quarter on two occasions, but couldn't get any closer as their late 3-point attempts fell by the wayside. Sophomore Cece Hooks led Ohio with 31 points, seven rebounds and five assists, and was one-of-four Bobcats in double figures.

Purdue returns home to start a five-game homestand Sunday, hosting Loyola at 2 p.m. ET in Mackey Arena.
