WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) -- Purdue's Provost is asking students to assume personal responsibility to protect the university.
Jay Akridge is the provost and executive vice president for academic affairs and diversity.
He said practices and protocols must be followed around campus to ensure safety for the gold and black.
He added Monday during Purdue Senate it is important the university protect the most vulnerable members of the community.
"As we said many times all of us are going to play an important role in making a safe Purdue happen," said Akridge. "There is nothing that is going to be easy about this and so much is going to be so different this fall as it has to be. "
Purdue's Board of Trustees is scheduled to release its last set of COVID-19 guidelines this week.
