WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — All in-person events at Purdue University's West Lafayette campus will be canceled through June 30 due to coronavirus, the university announced Wednesday.
Purdue said an "event" is defined, but not limited to, camps, conferences, public events, meetings, nonessential business, social gatherings and sporting events.
A decision on July events will be made by May 15.
As we previously reported, May and June classes will be done online. Freshmen Summer Transition, Advising and Registration (STAR) will be done remotely beginning May 11. Incoming students who have accepted their admission will automatically be enrolled in Virtual Summer Transition, Advising and Registration (VSTAR). Students will work with an academic advisor to pre-register for classes.
The Tippecanoe County Health Department canceled all community events through June on Wednesday. That includes all festivals, fairs, carnivals, camps and sporting events.
