WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI/Purdue Sports) — The Purdue baseball team welcomes rival Indiana to Alexander Field on Wednesday.

The Boilermakers (20-16, 7-4) have won four straight games entering its showdown with the No. 15 Hoosiers (29-8, 7-4 Big Ten).

Since the 2008 Big Ten Tournament in Ann Arbor, the Boilermakers have won 11 of the last 14 games in the rivalry series with IU played away from Bloomington. Earlier this month, Purdue posted its first win in Bloomington since May 2010 and its first win against a team ranked in the top 10 nationally since March 2006.

The 15th-ranked Hoosiers feature McCutcheon graduate Logans Sowers and Lafayette Jeff alum Justin Walker.

Ryan Beard will start for the Boilermakers while Tommy Sommer will take the mound for the Hoosiers. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
