WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Purdue Basketball is seeing an uptick in seasonal ticket purchases- 650 more to be exact.
Since the Purdue Basketball team placed high last year during the Big Ten Tournament the school has fans especially eager to watch this season. Overall, 7,000 seasonal tickets have been sold.
Purdue University Senior Associate Athletics Director Tom Schott said only a handful of tickets are left.
"There are a few season tickets left as we stand here right now. You can call the ticket office at 1-800-49 Sport, but my guess is by the end of today or tomorrow those will be gone and it will be down to single-game tickets," said Schott.
Ninety-five percent of season tickets sold this year were to return customers from last year. Schott says he has not seen this type of uproar in ticket sales in a while.
"Purdue Basketball has been a great tradition, we've had many great seasons of tremendous sellout crowds but in recent history, this is uncharted territory and we couldn't have been more excited," stated Schott.
Schott says he expects all seasonal tickets to be sold out by August 23rd, but single-game tickets will still be available.
