LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — A Lafayette man is facing burglary, theft, and criminal mischief charges. Police said Jacob Knowles took nothing more than candy from a vending machine.
Knowles ended up causing more than $5,000 in damage. On Sept. 22, police responded to Bone Dry Roofing for a truck that had a window shattered. Officers discovered the building and its neighbor, Unity Healthcare, had also been broken into.
In the Unity suite, a vending machine was smashed open with a fire extiguisher and candy missing from inside.
Knowles was identified by his parents after they saw surveillance video, according to court documents.
