According to Lafayette police, the city is experiencing a large power outage

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — UPDATE: As of 4:10 p.m. power has been restored.

According to Lafayette police, the city is experiencing a large power outage in certain areas of Kossuth Street, Earl Ave, Sagamore Pkwy, and South St. 

Police remind drivers that intersections with no power should be treated as four-way stops.

The Duke Energy power outage website shows 1700 people are without power. Duke stated the outage was caused by a piece of metal that was somehow thrown up into the lines. They estimate that the power will be restored around 4:30 p.m.
