BOONE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - Police have identified the person they believe is responsible for an armed robbery that happened in Boone County. As News 18 previously reported, Lebanon Police reported that a Dollar General was robbed at gunpoint Friday night.
Police are looking for 33-year-old Devin Ewoldt. They believe he is responsible for armed robberies in Owen and Putnam Counties as well.
On September 23, 2019, Deputies with the Owen County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported armed robbery at the Dollar General Store located in Gosport, Indiana. On September 28, 2019, Officers with the Greencastle Police Department responded to a reported armed robbery at the Pizza King in Greencastle, Indiana. Lebanon Police responded to the Dollar General for an armed robbery also on the 28th.
The suspect in each of the incidents was captured on video security systems at each of the businesses. With the help of the public, the suspect was quickly identified as Ewoldt. Authorities are continuing their search for Mr. Ewoldt in connection with these crimes.
Ewoldt is also wanted out of Boone County and Montgomery County on unrelated warrants.
Ewoldt was last seen driving a White 2004 Nissan Xterra with temporary license plate K709963. The photo below of his car was provided to News 18 by the Lebanon Police Department. His last known address was in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Police say Ewoldt was armed with a handgun during each of these incidents and is believed to be armed and dangerous.
