UPDATE: Details emerge after person struck by car in Lafayette

UPDATE: More details have emerged regarding an incident in which a person was struck by a car in Lafayette Wednesday morning.

UPDATE: Lafayette police say a woman struck by a minivan this morning is conscious and talking.

It happened around 7:15 a.m. at the intersection of Brady Lane and Commanche Trail.

Police say the minivan was turning onto Brady from Commanche when the vehicle struck the 23-year-old woman.

Officer Greg McDaniels says her head hit the hood of the car and she was tossed onto the street.

She has a bump on her head and road rash.

McDaniels says there's a discrepancy between the victim and the driver about what the crosswalk sign indicated.

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Police say a young female was struck by a car in Lafayette Wednesday morning.

It happened around 7:15 a.m. at the intersection of Brady Lane and Commanche Trail.

Police said the driver of the vehicle was turning onto Brady from Commanche. 

According to Lt. Perry Amos with the Lafayette Police Department, the victim suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
