LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI)—People gathered at Painting With a Twist in Lafayette to fundraise for the Almost Home Humane Society.
Painting With a Twist is an art studio that allows painters to learn how to paint or just to paint in an entertaining venue. Painters are allowed to also drink wine while they paint.
On Sunday painters paid an entry fee to paint a Christmas themed painting to help benefit the Almost Home Humane Society. This is the second year for the event with the society.
Painting With a Twist holds many fundraising events through their program called "Painting with a purpose."
Special Events manager for the Almost Home Humane Society, Emily Lykkegaard, said this helps the community in big ways.
"Almost Home Humane Society has actually celebrated their 80th birthday this year," said Lykkegaard. "So that's eighty years of us serving the community by taking care of the animals that are in need. So it's really awesome when businesses like this are willing to be generous in partner with us to raise funds so we can do a better job."
The fundraiser raised over $200.
