TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A travel note to those who drive through Tippecanoe County. Starting Tuesday, the State Road 225 Bridge over the Wabash River in Battle Ground is expected to temporarily close.
The Indiana Department of Transportation is inspecting the bridge. The closure is scheduled to last until Thursday, May 24th.
INDOT will be using a 'reach-all' truck to inspect the one-lane bridge. It allows the crew to get within arm's length of the different parts of the bridge being looked at.
"This should only take a couple of days. So, they should be done possibly by Wednesday afternoon, but scheduled an additional day in case there were any problems or for weather," said Debbie Calder, Communications Director for INDOT.
Work will be underway from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. with the bridge open before and after these times.
