WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — A man is in the hospital after a shooting in West Lafayette Thursday morning. According to police, officers were called around 4:30 a.m. at the Windsor Apartment Complex. That's at the corner of Northwestern Avenue and Windsor Drive. When officers arrived on the scene and found a man suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to a local hospital and then transferred to an Indianapolis hospital. Where he was shot or his condition is not known at this time.
Police say they have a person of interest detained and there is no risk to the public.
The shooting is still under investigation.
