One dead in Frankfort structure fire

Fire chief John Kirby said a person was pulled from an upstairs apartment Sunday a little after midnight on East Clinton Street.

FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) — One person is dead after a structure fire in Frankfort. Fire chief John Kirby said a person was pulled from an upstairs apartment Sunday a little after midnight on East Clinton Street.

EMS workers began life-saving measures and took the victim to a hospital. Kirby said that's where the victim died.

The victim's identity has not been released and the fire is still under investigation. Kirby said more information will be available once the fire investigation is complete.

Indiana State Fire Marshals Office is assisting in this case.
