October 22, 11 PM Weather Forecast Update

Tracking rain, storms, MARGINAL RISK for severe weather & then the overall trends to December...

Spotty rain, drizzle & sprinkles off & on this evening will give way to clearing in the northwest tonight.  Clouds will likely linger in the east & southeast, however.  This means 32-36 northwest with some frost & 37-41 elsewhere.

Patchy to areas of fog are possible area-wide.

Winds will be light from the west-northwest to northwest.

Saturday looks partly cloudy, but it may become mostly cloudy in our southwestern counties in the PM as clouds increase ahead of warm front.

Winds will be northwest, then north to northeast at 5-15 mph.

Wave of rainfall & a few storms will arrive Sunday morning, then migrate northward.  Rain & storm action may decrease south of 18 in the afternoon-early evening.  Highs will likely vary 50-70 with east to northeast winds north & southeast to south-southeast winds south.

Temperatures may run to 54-66 Sunday night with the leftovers of severe weather outbreak to the west & southwest of here arriving.

Note the SPC ENHANCED RISK (Level 3 of 5) western Illinois to Arkansas & the SLIGHT RISK (Level 2 of 5).

MARGINAL RISK or Level 1 of 5 risk is up from Kentland to Lafayette to Kirklin & southwestward.

An isolated brief EF0 to low-end EF1 tornado &/or isolated severe gust is possible in the MARGINAL RISK area.

Also, 2-3" rainfall is expected northwest & 1-2" rest of the area Sunday-Monday.

Some minor river flooding is possible on the Kankakee, Iroqouis & Wabash early next week.

After showers & t'showers Monday morning, it should dry out & temperatures fall with mostly cloudy to cloudy skies the rest of the day.

There is a question as to where exactly warm front will set up Tuesday-Wednesday, but trend continues to shift it north, bathing us in warmth.

More showers & storms are likely Wednesday night to Thursday (mainly in the AM).  However, the area of MARGINAL to SLIGHT RISK (Level 1-2 of 5) for severe is mainly west of our area.  Temperatures should fall from the 60s to the 50s Thursday.

Friday is mostly cloudy, windy & cooler with 50s.

It is possible that we do not drop below 20 in November.....it is POSSIBLE.

HOWEVER, once winter roars in during early December, it will really roar in, it still appears with below to well-below normal temperatures & snow risk. There are signs we will not budge out of that pattern totally until after Christmas, then we have a 3-week long wet, mild stretch with a lack of snowfall.
