LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — The Northend Community Center has a new feature for families to enjoy this holiday season. A six track train display had its debut Monday.
The model railroad layout is a traditional Lionel-style set up.
Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski drove the golden spike into the model. He said the model has already had a positive impact on the community and will continue to do so through the holidays.
"Kids and different adults were involved in building the sets and the displays," said Roswarski. "It'll bring families in. It'll be quality time."
The trains will be on display until New Years Day. There is no charge to visit the model.
