WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — The Purdue men's basketball team will hold its lone exhibition game on Friday but without one of its starters.
Nojel Eastern will miss the Boilermakers' exhibition contest against Southern Indiana with a left foot injury.
The junior guard expects to return for the team's season opener against Green Bay next Wednesday.
Head coach Matt Painter believes Eastern's foot injury is inflammation-related.
Eastern is currently wearing a boot. However, he insists it's "precautionary" and "nothing too crazy."
The preseason All-Big Ten selection did not play in Purdue's scrimmage versus Providence this past Sunday. Sophomore Eric Hunter Jr. started in Eastern's absence.
