LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A building has officially been purchased for Grant's House.
The announcement was made Friday night at the annual "I'm Happy and I'm Alive" Celebration in honor of Grant.
Grant passed away in 2015. He had a vision to create a center for kids and young adults with special needs.
Since then.. his family has been working with the Wabash Center to raise funds for such a center.
Grant's mother, Tamara House, said the new building is located off Salem Street. It will help make that dream become a reality.
"We will have a sensory room for autistic children, an art room, a library, a computer room and a recreation room. We're also raising money for an adaptive playground for those kids to be able to play, just like everyone else," said House.
She said the goal to have Grant's House up and running by January of 2019.
