LOGANSPORT, Ind. (WLFI) — The community of Logansport continues to honor Marine Cpl. Humberto Sanchez.
Local artists are teaming up with high school art students to paint murals dedicated to Sanchez.
As we've reported, the 22-year-old was killed in a suicide bombing in Afghanistan last week.
The Logansport Art Association has already started a mural on one of the city's two McDonald's locations.
Sanchez worked at the fast food chain throughout high school.
The owners reached out and asked for the murals to be painted on the windows.
High school art teacher Amy Werner taught Sanchez as a freshman and said Sanchez took as many art classes as he could because it was so important to him.
"He was just so lighthearted and fun, but when he was creating art he took it very seriously, and he worked very hard on his art," Werner said.
Three high school students will be helping Werner with the mural.
Work will start Friday and wrap up Tuesday.
