The Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office said the initial investigation into the crash revealed the Honda Accord was traveling west on Jackson Highway and for reasons unknown, failed to properly negotiate a curve in the roadway. The vehicle went off the right side of the roadway, crashed through a fence, and, head-on, into a large tree.
Officers said the male child was properly restrained within a forward-facing child safety seat, in the rear driver side seat. However, he sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash.
