TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A piece of Tippecanoe County history is getting a second chance.
A former schoolhouse on North Ninth Street Road will soon become someone's home.
It dates back to the 1860's, county commissioners approved its rezoning from industrial to residential on Monday.
Area Plan Commissioner Executive Director David Hittle said projects like this are important.
"Whenever you can take something like that, that hearkens back to the heritage of a place and reuse it, put it to a new purpose," Hittle said. "I think everybody wins."
The schoolhouse does not have any historic protections.
