CLINTON and WHITE COUNTIES, Ind. (WLFI) — Mobile vaccination clinics were deployed Thursday to ten counties across the state, including two in the WLFI viewing area.
The mobile clinics are located on the Ivy Tech campus, 251 E. Clinton St. in Frankfort, and the White County Fairgrounds, 12 N. 25 E. in Reynolds, and are open for three days from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Phil and Jenny Isenbarger just became eligible for the vaccine and traveled from Zionsville to the mobile clinic in Frankfort because they couldn't schedule an appointment closer to home until April.
"Phil did a lot of research and he had a hard time finding a spot close by in Zionsville and we've been told it's good to go to other counties when necessary, so we looked at Frankfort and there were openings in two days," says Jenny Isenbarger.
George Sheppard says he traveled from Sheridan to the mobile clinic in Frankfort to get his shot.
"My son was concerned about this and he's been online and doing the due diligence to make sure I got my shot because they lost their mom to cancer and they don't want to lose their dad," he says.
Hoosiers interested in the mobile clinics still need to schedule their shot ahead of time at ourshot.in.gov or by calling 211.
The mobile clinics will return in about a month to administer second doses.
