BATTLE GROUND, Ind. (WLFI) — Tuesday's message of hope is from Sheri Rohrer at Battle Ground United Methodist Church.
Rohrer's message is transcribed below and the video will be attached shortly.
"The message of hope I would like to share with you today comes from the Easter message that we just celebrated yesterday. When Jesus rose from the dead and the first time he appeared in front of his disciples after he rose from the dead he came into a room where the disciples were huddled and they were in a space where they weren't sure what was happening because their world had just been turned upside down. They were scared and they were behind locked doors. In a sense they were self-quarantining. Well Jesus came in right in the midst of their stress, of their anxiety and their concerns and their struggles. And not only that he said peace be with you. So the first word that Jesus says is peace. Then he shows them his crucified hands and his side as if to say I know what it's like to struggle I know what it's like to go through hard times I've been there. But not only have I been there I came through the other side as the resurrected lord. So the message is this, even when our world is upside down, even when we're struggling and we don't know what's happening or what's going to happen in the future. Jesus is there with us. He speaks peace and shows us that with him we will overcome because he has overcome."
