WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Meijer and Food Finders announced February 12 a partnership to help feed the hungry in Greater Lafayette. From now until April 10, "Simply Give" donation cards purchased at the West Lafayette Meijer will go to Food Finders.

The donation cards are converted into food-only Meijer gift cards which Food Finders can use to stock pantries and help those with food insecurities.

The cards are ten dollars.

Food Finders Senior Impact Director Adam Meyer says the program is coming in a time where food insecurities are high due to the pandemic.

"This pandemic has really kind of put a lot of people who may have never experienced any type of food insecurity in their lifetime in a situation where they are kind of at a loss and are looking for assistance," Meyer said.

On March 13 and April 3, Meijer will double match purchases of the donation cards, tripling the donation.

Meyer says over 300 in need households each day come to Food Finders in Lafayette.
