30s & 40s Monday-Tuesday will give way to 40s to 50s Wednesday.  Wednesday night will be exceptionally mild with temperatures rising into the upper 50s to lower 60s as 24-hour spring gets underway.

Two waves of rainfall are likely.  One will be with warm front Wednesday.  The other will be with Pacific cold front Wednesday evening-night with some severe risk as far north as far southwest Indiana-western Kentucky.

Thursday looks like the nicest, warmest day since October 31 as slot of dry Pacific air comes in & scours out clouds & dries us out.  Highs of 64-70 are possible (warmest in southeast).  I am forecasting 67 for Greater Lafayette.  Enjoy it!  It won't last long!  Let the Silver & Red Maple bud burst begin!  The crocus & daffodils will begin a nice ascent out of the ground!

This will be short-lived.  Stronger cold front will pass Thursday evening.  A narrow line of low-topped showers & t'storms are possible with it.  We will wait & see if any severe risk can develop with it due to cold pocket aloft associated with upper low.  If cold pocket can overspread the front (just behind dry slot of drier Pacific air) then some severe risk could develop (even if the t'storms are pretty low topped).

Friday-Saturday will only be in the 30s with some scattered flurries & snow showers!  Lows will run in the 20s.

Cold pattern should continue up to March 20 after 24-hour spring.

I still think burst of more sustained warmth in late March (with round of showers & t'storms) may be followed by burst of quite cold weather at the very end of March.
