LOGANSPORT, Ind. (WLFI) - Many rallied Thursday in Cass County over family separation at the border.
Dozens lined up at the corner of 4th and East Market streets in Logansport. The rally was planned after President Trump's immigration policy resulted in children being separated from their parents at the border.
Wednesday, the president signed an order ending that policy.
However, Thursday's protesters said it isn't enough and they don't have proof that the change is going to work the way it's supposed to.
"Families are being torn apart," said Zach Szmara, a rally attendee. "They're being torn apart in Logansport and Lafayette. We know that we don't see that because it's not at the border. But this is an issue that is occurring even locally because of some of the new policies that are being implemented."
Organizers are planning a second rally on June 30.
