TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI)- A Lafayette man faces multiple charges after allegations that he choked a child.
Prosecutors say a woman walked in on 40-year-old Balis Stiver with his hands around the child's neck.
She told police he was lifting the child off the floor and his face was blue.
The woman was unsuccessful in her attempt to pull Stiver off the child before calling for help.
The child told emergency crews he was choked by Stiver and could not breathe.
He's charged with battery on a person less than 14-years-old, neglect of a dependent and strangulation.
