PURDUE UNIVERSITY— The Paint Crew and Purdue Athletics welcomed fans to Mackey Arena Sunday to cheer on the Boilermaker Men's Basketball team.
While the team was away playing Indiana at Assembly Hall, fans took in the game from the jumbo-tron. Fans of all ages and students were welcome. Pizza and drinks were served during the game. The game was up and down for Purdue in the first half. While the game took place students like Brad Englert reflected on the rivalry.
"Knowing about the rivalry, I mean all my friends went down to IU, and I came up to Purdue, so we butt heads too, so it's pretty fun."
Fans were excited about this one. Hunter Johnson said this season has been special.
"It's been crazy, it's been cool watching them, I think we get better every week."
Good news for the fans in attendance Sunday, the Purdue men's basketball team won its 17th game in a row. That's a school record.
