LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - One local woman is working to show off everything Lafayette has to offer. From new restaurants to fun things to do, she's doing it through social media.
Kelsey Sutherlin was born and raised in Lafayette.
"I think like most people who grew up in a smaller town, I felt like I had to get the heck out of Dodge. So, I moved to Nashville, Tennessee for about four years," said Sutherlin.
Sutherlin then decided to move back to Lafayette in 2016.
"Just kind of having that hometown aspect was something I realized I missed," she said.
When she returned, she decided to put her passion for writing and photography to good use. Sutherlin started Living Lafayette, a social media account that was inspired by similar ones for Nashville.
"I realized that there was kind of a void here in Lafayette of a lot of creative accounts like that."
She wanted it to be a positive account, representing her hometown.
"I realize there are pros and cons to everywhere you're going to live. So, there's always negative things, but it's really crucial, I think, to not dwell on those and just focus on the positive things," explained Sutherlin.
That's why Sutherlin will continue to keep people informed of everything Lafayette has to offer.
"There's just so much happening, from new restaurants to parks, to summer festivals, I would love to just be a place that can kind of curate that and put it all in one spot to help people know what's going on," said Sutherlin.
