TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) -- The three local public schools in our area are responding to Indiana's guidance on reopening schools.
Indiana Department of Education leaders released a document suggesting how schools can safely and properly open in August.
The document said playgrounds should close, schedules should be staggered and recommends mask wearing.
This is the beginning of getting doors open at schools and administrators said families can expect more detailed information by mid-July.
TSC, LSC and WLCSC released a joint statement Friday.
"We ask for everyone to be patient as our administrative teams from the Lafayette School Corporation, Tippecanoe School Corporation and West Lafayette Community School Corporation review the 38-page document and consult with the Tippecanoe County Health Department and other agencies. The guidance provides local flexibility for appropriate stakeholders to prepare the necessary measures with the goal of continuous learning in a safe environment."
