TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI)—A local man is being honored as number one entrepreneur in the State of Indiana for the year 2021.
Governor Eric Holcomb is declaring the week of September 13th -17th, 2021, as Small Business Week in Indiana. The award is being given to many small business owners in the State of Indiana.
It's presented by Indiana Small Business Development Center. Wilburn said he hopes to spread a positive message.
"The euphoria of having so many loved ones that deposited wisdom into me all in one spot at one time plus the elected officials that helped me grow the business that supported us through financial support all in one place phenomenal," said Wilburn.
According to Indiana Small Development Center, there are 529,000 small business in Indiana. State Director for Indiana Small Development Center David Watkins said every week should be small business week.
"We want to celebrate and share the stories of small businesses and entrepreneurs like Donte because it's important to tell their stories. 9 out of 10 business in Indiana are going to be small businesses and we want to celebrate them," said Watkins.
