These are the maximum temperatures each year in the West Lafayette data set (Purdue University 1879-1953, Purdue Ag Farm 1954-Present):

We have hit 90 every single summer since 1879.  The first occurrence of 90 in the summer is typically June 4 at West Lafayette.

This is a good measure of air conditioning use each month.

These are the top 10 worst months of highest demand for air conditioning (even before it was invented) at West Lafayette (base at 65 degrees) on record (1879-Present)................
