LOWELL, Ind. (WLFI) A Lafayette teen has died from injuries sustained in a three-car crash Monday on I-65. 19-year-old Emma Conner died after being was severely injured in a crash around the 232 mile marker.
According to Indiana State Police, traffic was backed up on the interstate due to a vehicle fire when a Jeep failed to slow and rear-ended Emma pushing her car into the truck in front of her. Emma was trapped and first responders had difficulty removing her from the vehicle due to the severe damage to her car as well as the Jeep that had come to rest on top of it.
Once she was removed she was taken to Franciscan Health Hospital in Crown Point where according to ISP she succumbed to her injuries.
