LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — A suspect is in jail after police responded to a missing child report on Monday. According to Lafayette Police, around 7 p.m. officers responded to a report of a missing and endangered juvenile female in the 2400 block of Main Street. It was reported that the resident of 714 Park Court, had made comments about seeing the child in the time frame after she was reported missing.
Officers contacted James Chadwell, the resident, and a search was performed of the home. Police said the girl was found in the home with visible signs of injuries. She was taken to the hospital.
James Chadwell was arrested for Criminal Confinement and is currently being held at the Tippecanoe County Jail.
