LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — A Lafayette man is behind bars for an alleged inappropriate relationship with a child.
Daniel Keck, 33, is facing several charges including possession of child pornography and sexual misconduct with a minor.
Lafayette police first learned about the relationship back in Dec. 2019. Police found messages between Keck, who was 32 at the time, and a 15-year-old discussing getting married when she turned 16.
Officers also said there were monthly anniversary messages sent between the two, indicating their relationship started in May 2019.
Police found videos and pictures of the two being intimate on social media. Both Keck and the girl admitted to having intercourse and sending nude photos and videos to each other.
Keck has a criminal history. He was convicted of strangulation and battery back in 2015 and burglary in 2008, among other convictions.
As of Wednesday morning, Keck was listed in the Tippecanoe County Jail.
