LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI)—On Thursday at Lafayette Redevelopment, the Economic Development Commission considered a bond to help with the project. The bond will contribute between 1.6 and 1.9 million dollars.
As we previously reported the 16.8 million tower will offer 76 units and 6,000square feet of retail space.
Construction is set to start in January with completion by the Summer of 2022.
Economic Development Director, Dennis Carson, said this project will be a great step for the city.
"It's helping to revitalize downtown," said Carson. "So again it's taking an under performing area which is a vacant lot right now and turning it back into that'll be income producing. So it'll bring more people downtown as well too."
