LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI)—If you're a still in the market for a Christmas tree this season you're in luck.
You can get one for a bargain because the Lafayette Noon Optimist Club is selling Christmas trees for twenty dollars. The organization begin selling trees during Thanksgiving.
After nearly 50 years of selling Christmas trees this is the first year the organization has over 100 unsold trees out of about 500. The trees normally retail for about $75.
Former President for the Lafayette Noon Optimist Club, Nick Schenkel, said having a real Christmas really puts families in the Christmas spirit.
"It is fantastic," said Schenkel. "The fragrance on these trees is just wonderful. Especially as they warm up inside of your home a little bit and give off that piney "Christmasy" scent."
Using the honor system, people can stop by Frozen Custard on 2319 Wallace Ave to pick out their tree and drop off the $20 on their own.
If all the trees aren't sold by Christmas, the Lafayette Noon Optimist Club will try to donate the trees to other organizations.
