LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — It's been a busy week for the Lafayette Jeff football program and the Bronchos have yet to kickoff the 2019 season.
D'Marco Cross and Quentin Stepheny announced their college choices on Thursday.
Cross committed to Illinois State. The senior defensive end also held an offer Western Michigan and received interest from Eastern Illinois and Ball State.
The first-team all-North Central Conference pick recorded 59 tackles, 12 for loss and three sacks last fall.
Illinois State is led by former Purdue defensive coordinator Brock Spack. The Redbirds advanced to the 2015 NCAA Division I Football Championship Game in 2015 before falling to North Dakota State.
Earlier on Thursday, Cross' teammate Quentin Stepheny pledged to Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois. The Tigers compete in the NAIA.
Stepheny is a three-year starter for Jeff and a two-time all-North Central Conference selection.
As a junior, the safety had 68 tackles, six for loss and three blocked punts.
The Bronchos have had three players commit this week. Bishop Johnson announced his committment to Army on Tuesday.
Cross, Stepheny, Johnson and Jeff to begin the 2019 campaign at home against West Lafayette on August 23.
