LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Cleveland Indian's player, Chandler Ferguson, stopped by Techumseh Junior High School, Wednesday.
The Lafayette Jefferson Graduate talked to kids about the importance of staying in school. Ferguson said doing well on the field, starts with hard work in the classroom.
Ferguson said respecting parents, coaches and teachers are all integral parts of the game.
"I wanted to make it a changing moment for them, they don't have to listen obviously they don't like hearing speeches all the time but I just feel like coming in and reaching out to them was a good chance to kind of express what I went through, to get to the point where I'm at now," said Ferguson.
