LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Alaina Omonode gave Lafayette Jeff all it could handle Tuesday night.
The Bronchos overcame a 40-point performance from the junior to beat West Lafayette 78-70 in the opening round of the Franciscan Health Hoops Classic at Resler Gymnasium.

Omonode set a Hoops Classic record for points scored in a game previously held by Harrison junior Sydney Jacobsen (35 points).
Lafayette Jeff recorded five players in double figures led by Nykela Haskins' 16 points.
Benton Central also advanced to semifinal play on Tuesday.
The Bison routed Central Catholic 75-44. Emma Fisher posted a team-high 21 points. Audrey Strawsman chipped in 19. Karsyn Cherry finished with 22 points in the loss for the Knights.
