LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Lafayette Family YMCA will reopen June 1st after being closed for more than two months.
Guests will notice several changes once the facility reopens.
Staff have made several changes to promote health and safety as the facility reopens.
Employees will be required to have their temperatures checked before each shift. They will be cleaning every twenty to thirty minutes.
Signs have been posted across the facility reminding guests about social distancing guidelines and to clean equipment after use.
According to Vice President of Operations Sharon Thompson, the facility will reopen in three phases.
"Phase one we are limiting our building to members only and they have to be 18 years of age. Or if they're a child coming in that's old enough to use the cardio equipment, that's fine, they just have to be with an adult," said Thompson.
The facility will close an hour early each day to allow for deep cleaning.
