Lafayette Citizens Band performs Memorial Day celebration

The Lafayette Citizens Band hosted their annual Memorial Day celebration Monday evening.

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) —The Lafayette Citizens Band hosted their annual Memorial Day celebration Monday evening. Riehle Plaza played host to the performance that welcomed the public and veterans.

Songs featured tributes to each of the services in the military. Veterans were asked to stand as their respective service's song played to be recognized.

Ted Luce is a volunteer with the band. He said performances like these mean so much to everyone involved.

"A lot of music in there with marches and a lot of patriotic music and everything else so it's a special night for the community and of course I know the kids that are in the band enjoy doing this too," said Luce.

The Lafayette Citizens Band will have performances all summer long including a July 4 celebration.
