LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI)—Get your costumes ready. Greater Lafayette's Salvation Army is partnering with Lafayette Transitional Housing Center for a family trunk or treat. Cars will be parked, and decorated, with a different Halloween theme in the L-T-H-C parking lot and the Salvation Army's parking lot.
Families can walk the parking lot and trick-or-treat out of the trunk of each car. The Salvation Army will also provide hot chocolate.
The event will start at 5 p.m. and end by 8. Lieutenant, Rachel Johnson, said this is great way for families to have a spooky good time, safely.
"We are excited to partner with our neighbors this year to make it more of a block party," said Johnson. "There wont be any like fall festivities like pumpkin carving or donuts or apples or things like that but we'll just save all of that for next year."
Oakland High School will offer free parking the day of the event. For more information click here.
