LFD fights garage fire near downtown Lafayette

The garage is not attached to a home and Captain Barker said it was used for storage

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Fire inspectors have ruled the cause of a garage fire in Lafayette undetermined. It happened on 5th and Romig Streets, near downtown Lafayette.

According Lafayette dispatch the call came in just before 7 p.m. Lafayette Fire Department Captain Joe Barker said the left side of the garage was engulfed in flames when they arrived.

The garage is not attached to a home and Captain Barker said it was used for storage. No one was inside and there were no reported injuries.

Fire Inspector Todd Budd said they'll continue investigating and may have a clearer picture by next week.
