TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI)—1,811 kids will have a merry Christmas this year thanks to LUM's Jubilee Christmas.
Tons of tables were covered in toys for families in need this holiday season.
Lafayette Urban Ministry held its annual Jubilee Christmas at Oakland High School on Saturday
Jubilee Christmas is a special LUM program for families with children twelve and under.
Families are invited to a location where they have the chance to choose new toys for their children. Families also receive food items for their Christmas dinner.
Pablo Malavenda says giving back in this way truly helps the community.
"This program is important because Lafayette Urban Ministry believes that lifting up children is very important and lifting up families," said Malavenda. "One of the things we do with Jubilee Christmas is we allow local families to have a very simple Christmas where they otherwise would not have anything."
This is LUM's 39th year hosting Jubilee Christmas.
