TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - One person is dead after a fatal crash that happened early Saturday morning.
The Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office and Sheffield Township Fire Department got the call around 5:50 a.m. A single-vehicle crash happened near the intersection of Wyandotte and Newcastle Roads.
Joseph Henderson, 29, was the only person in the car. Police found out he turned right on to New Castle Road when he lost control of the vehicle and hit rolled over. He was partially ejected and suffered life threatening injuries.
He was taken to Franciscan Health and then eventually airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, where he died while being treated.
Henderson was not wearing a seat belt, which police say most likely would have saved his life. However, police believe drugs and alcohol were not involved.
