LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Ivy Tech is helping make going to college a bit easier during the pandemic.
The community college is offering a free Virtual College 101 event this Thursday, November 5th from 6 pm to 8 pm.
The event will talk about the current college experience amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Deans and program directors will be available to answer questions about enrollment and financial aid.
According to Director of Admissions Ivan Hernandez, the community college has made a large switch to virtual classes.
He said this is to help create more comfortable learning spaces for students.
"We're trying to make it so that students that are uncomfortable coming to campus, we still have the option for them. Students do have the option of coming to some of the campuses," said Hernandez.
Hernandez added that this is a great opportunity to learn about high demand fields.
"Some of the examples are cybersecurity, that's in high demand. Logistics is in high demand. The health programs are in high demand right now," said Hernandez.
Attendees are required to RSVP ahead of the event. A link to register can be found here.
