LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Tippecanoe County Health Department's new vaccine clinic will have a mural dedicated to greater Lafayette's fight against COVID-19.
Work on the painting began the night of Friday, January 8. A team led by Grace Paton has been working non-stop to get as much of the mural done as possible before the opening at noon on January 11.

"We went home to sleep yesterday but we were here for like 10 hours," Paton said.
The mural features a remembrance wall where visitors can sign the names of loved ones and friends who were lost to COVID-19 as a way to memorialize them. There is also a selfie wall and a massive graffiti graphic that reads "Greater Lafayette Crushes Covid".
That phrase is a hashtag the team wants visitors to use when posting to social media.
"We want people to feel comfortable and proud that they're helping the community," Paton said.
The wall is not likely to be completed by Monday, but tweaks will continue to be added and the mural may be expanded later on.
