WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — A taste of Indianapolis is about to make its way to Purdue.
The Patachou Inc. restaurant group is opening up a new restaurant on campus. "Public Greens" will be a fast-casual, farm-to-table restaurant. It will be built on the corner of Northwestern and Stadium avenues near Lambert Fieldhouse.
The restaurant will serve namesake dishes and build-your-own-bowl options. "Public Greens" will also have gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options. Protien dishes will be sourced locally.
It will be the fourth "Public Greens" location, and first for the restaurant group outside of Indianapolis. There are locations in Broad Ripple, The Fashion Mall at Keystone, and in downtown Indianapolis. The restaurant group also runs Indianapolis locations Cafe Patachou, Petite Chou, Napolese and One Fourteen.
"It's just another piece, of the conversation we have so often, about trying to build the most attractive environment possible," said Purdue President Mitch Daniels. "We are really proud that their first venture outside of Indianapolis would be here."
“Opening a fourth location of Public Greens in West Lafayette is something we’re extremely excited about,” said Martha Hoover, founder and president of Patachou Inc. “We’re particularly excited to work with the College of Agriculture to create our third urban microfarm.”
President Daniels said to stay tuned, more new food options will soon be announced across campus.
Construction will begin this month. The restaurant is expected to open in May.
