WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI)- A man is now behind bars after threatening to stab people in multiple locations. It all started at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in West Lafayette around 3:00 O’clock Thursday afternoon.
The West Lafayette Police department responded to the area after getting a call that a man had pulled a knife on a staff member and was threatening them. Once police arrived the suspect, 33-year-old Deanthony Furman fled the church and got on to a CityBus that was en route.
Police were able to track the bus down and attempted to arrest Mr. Furman once they had the bus pulled over. However, Mr. Furman fled the bus and ran into Mathews Hall on Purdue Universities Campus. From there the Purdue Police department was able to take him into custody. He was arrested on initial charges of intimidation with a deadly weapon.
No one was injured during this arrest.
