INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WLFI) — The Indianapolis Zoo will soon have new sights for visitors this spring. Starting Memorial Day weekend, the zoo will feature a Long-Tail Macaque exhibit.

The exhibit will feature several structures that will bring out the personalities of the rare monkeys. Macaques are known for their abilities to swim. The exhibit will also feature an underwater viewing area while the monkeys swim. Carla Knapp said new exhibits like these are great for both visitors and the animals.

"Animal enrichment is a really important aspect of what we do at the Indianapolis Zoo and you're going to see that inside our new Macaques exhibit," said Knapp. "Through their play within the water we're going to have lots of activities to encourage them to get into the water."

The zoo will also be opening its seasonal butterfly conservatory along with Macaw and Flamingo exhibits.
